Gail JoAnne Wulf, 88, of Battle Creek, went to be with her Heavenly Father on Friday, May 7, 2021. She was born December 6, 1932 in Detroit, MI the daughter of Donald E. and M. Doris (Laughlin) Libkuman. Gail graduated from Lakeview High School in 1951 and obtained her degree through Argubright Business College.
Gail worked for Sullivan’s as a teenager and then went in to nursing, working for Visiting Nurse Services as an HHA. She finished her working career at Arlene's Truck Stop. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and even became a driver. Gail was a Bluebird and Campfire Leader, past Treasurer for Springfiled PTA, cooked for the school carnivals, and a member of The Musical Moppets. Gail was dedicated to her beliefs, defending them vigorously. She was a strong believer in human rights and was a lifelong supporter of the Democratic Party.
Gail loved to save newspaper clippings; she has for over 50 years. Some of her collection includes Inaugural speeches, the Civil War, Old Barns of Michigan, and North American Indians. Gail was a genealogist and has records dating back twice to the Revolutionary War on her mother's side. She loved basketball, Battle Creek Central Bearcats, Michigan State Spartans, crossword puzzles, music, dancing, and she was an avid reader. Gail had an extraordinary love and dedication to her family. She had an easy personality with a great sense of humor. Many knew Gail as "Granny."
She is survived by her children: Bruce (Rita) Becke, Kathleen Swope, Thomas (Donna) Becke, Karen West, and Mary (Ray) Horn; 14 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, William Becke; second husband, John Wulf; daughter, Barbara Ann Becke; granddaughter, Patricia Gail; and sister, Sue Malin.
A Visitation will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 15, 2021 at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. A Burial will take place at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Battle Creek, MI.
