Gordon L. Rozell, age 87, of Battle Creek, MI passed away on May 3, 2021 at Advantage Living Center in Battle Creek due to complications with COVID-19.
Gordon was born December 29, 1933, to Lester and Velva (Crane) Rozell. He graduated from Kellogg Agricultural School in 1953. Gordon worked for the Battle Creek Fire Apparatus and Clark Equipment Company.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Gordon also enjoyed playing softball for several teams around the Battle Creek area. He loved horses, and belonged to the Silver Spur Riding Club in Bedford, MI. Gordon loved watching Old Western Movies, Sports programs and of course the Detroit Tigers. Gordon was a regular Euchre player at the Battle Creek Kool Family Community Center. He served his country in the US Navy on the Destroyer Henry W. Tucker from December 1955 to September 1957.
Gordon is survived by his son, Scott (Stefanie) Rozell; two grandchildren, Julia and Eric Rozell; two sisters, Geneva (Harold) McDonald, Doris (Doug) Stoner; sister-in-law, Donna (Kenneth) Rozell; and many nieces, nephews, friends; and several great nieces and nephews.
Gordon was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Velva Rozell; his siblings, Kenneth Rozell and Jeanette Cronkhite; brother-in-laws, Bill Cronkhite and Douglas Stoner.
A Graveside Service will be held on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
