Our precious mother, Evelyn Keith, passed away with family by her side on April 10, 2021, at the age of 85.
Known to friends as Evie, she was born in Jackson, Michigan, to Leroy and Elizabeth Frook. She graduated from Mesick High School and attended nursing school in Chicago, Illinois. It was while attending nursing school that she met the love of her life, Thom Keith. They would marry in 1957 and after spending time abroad, settled and raised a family in Michigan.
Evie always endeavored to be of service to family, friends, and her church. First and foremost, she was a dedicated and loving mother to her two sons and husband. She worked as a medical transcriptionist for 18 years at Southwest Michigan Rehabilitation and subsequently retired from Sparrow Hospital.
Evie loved music and was an accomplished pianist. Music was always playing in her mind and she took tremendous joy in using her talent in service to God. She was a faithful part of Country Chapel Church in Dowling, Michigan, and was honored to serve as Choir Director there for many years
She was predeceased by her loving husband, Thom, in 2003 and sister, Beth Olson. Evie will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Nathan and Michael and daughters-in-law, Jackie and Susan as well as numerous relatives and friends.
A visitation is planned for Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 at Bachman Hebble, 223 North Bedford Road. A celebration of life service will be held at Country Chapel Church, 9275 M-37, Dowling, MI, on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at 11:00 am.
The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Senior Care Partners P.A.C.E and Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan for their care and compassion.
