Timothy Douglas Houghtalin, 65, of Battle Creek, passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020. He was born February 23, 1955 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of George and Beverly (Yeakey) Houghtalin. Tim graduated from Pennfield High School, class of 1973. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Business from WMU. Tim married the love of his life, Susan Masters, on April 26, 1986 in Battle Creek. He retired from Post Cereal after 41 years of service. Tim was a master craftsman and a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching old movies, and collecting coins. His family was his world. Tim was an amazing husband, father, and grandfather. He had a love for black labs, especially Moose. We’ll miss his quick wit, big heart, and contagious smile.
He is survived by his wife: Susan Houghtalin: daughters: Timery (Ben Tasker) Houghtalin, Madison Houghtalin, and Sydney (Austin "Bo" Morgan) Houghtalin; grandsons: Remington and Rhett; sister: Karen (Barry) Nilson; his Houghtalin cousins and Moore cousins; mother-in-law, Jean (Curt) Criffield; brother-in-law, Ronald (Lou) Masters; sister-in-law, Cindy (Mark) Moss; and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Tuesday, December 15th from 12:00-2:00 PM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 PM. A private family burial will take place at a later date Striker Cemetery in Baltimore Township, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial tributes may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
