It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Asa Ivan Ford, age 52, of Battle Creek, MI announces the unexpected passing of our dear husband, son, brother, father, uncle, grandfather, and friend on Monday, August 24, 2020 at his home in Battle Creek, MI .
He was born May 24, 1968 in Kalamazoo, MI the son of Ronald Lee Ford and Arleta Mae (Holder) Ford.
Asa worked at Denso Manufacturing as a Senior Quality Technician for 7 years and had worked for AST Tooling as a tool and die maker for 5 years.
He married Jeanette Denise Flannagin on November 27, 1992 in Cooper, MI.
He received his GED in 1987 from Comstock and attended KVCC for 2 years studying the tool and die craft.
He is survived by his wife Jeanette D. Ford of Battle Creek, MI; his mother: Arleta Mae Ford of Carleton, MI; his sister: Melissa Harrison of Taylor, MI; three daughters: Sarah Elizabeth & Brian Sams of Battle Creek, MI; Kayleigh & Chris Aponte of Battle Creek, MI; Savannah Nichole Ford and Michael Ballman of Battle Creek, MI; Caleb Jon & Tabitha Ford of Battle Creek, MI; Joshua Asa & Valerie Ford of Lawton, MI; his sister: Melissa Harrison of Carlton, MI; his brother: Gene Sutton of Marietta, Georgia; ten grandchildren & one on the way: Isabel Thorpe; Madison Aponte; Jaxson Aponte; Oliver Aponte; Anna Marie Aponte; Greyson Aponte; Emma Ford; Derek Ford; William Ballman; Remington Case; baby on the way to be named Duane Ballman.
Asa loved his grandkids, enjoyed working on his cars and he got his dream car recently a 1996 Corvette, he loved his Alaskan Malamute named "Mishka"; he enjoyed camping and boating and visiting Las Vegas.
No visitation or funeral services are planned at this time. Cremation has been conducted. Memorial tributes may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
