On Monday June 8, 2020 Carilean E. Summerfield 89, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and friend to many went to be with her Lord and Savior. Carilean passed away unexpectedly at Evergreen Manor of heart failure. Carilean Summerfield, daughter of Freeman and Marie Bundy (Spinney) was born on July 4, 1930 in Battle Creek, Michigan. She was preceded in death by her parents; three children Terry L. Thompson, Spencer F. Thompson; Ginny M. Smith (Thompson) and two brothers, Russell F. Bundy and Gordon L. Bundy. Husbands Floyd S. Thompson; Donald Summerfield and loving partner Leonard Roddy.
She was a woman of deep faith and enjoyed an extended church family. She was an active member of Life and Christ Ministries and served on their prayer chain ministry. Carilean will always hold a warm loving spot in my heart. She watched me grow up and have a child that used to play with her granddaughter. She watched them grow and have kids of their own. What a wonderful journey 😇
Love and prayers to you and your family! 🙏

She loved our venison chili but not to spicy. I always tried to make sure she could take some home after the church Christmas dinner every year. She always said Hi to me every Sunday morning at church. ❤️🙏

In reading the obituary I see that Carilean and I have more in common than I knew. I am saddened that I never had the opportunity to get too know the family better. I remember a few times in family events talking with her, but never had the chance to get into deeper conversations about her life. I am happy that she shares the same funeral home and cemetery as me and my family, so that way I can visit her. I miss having the chance to connect with that side of my family, but love them all anyways. I see this as a missed opportunity of connecting with a great lady.. You will be missed. Millard Bundy's son Michael Bundy. Hopefully we will stay in touch as a family. Rest in the presence of God Carilean.

We are so sorry to hear of Carilean’s passing. She was such a great roommate and friend to my mother at Evergreen. During the last days she was by my mothers side to comfort and to ease her passing. Heaven has surly gained a wonderful angel.
