It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Willard Anthony Wank, age 90, of Battle Creek, MI, announces the passing of our dear father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at Bickford Cottage in Battle Creek, MI where he had been a resident for the past three years.
He was born July 11, 1929 in Doster, MI the son of William August Wank and Alta Louise (Kline) Wank.
Willard grew up in Athens, and then moved to Battle Creek afterwards moving to the Dowling area; he and his wife spent their winters for 17 years in Arizona. He attended Athens schools until he needed to work on the farm.
Willard worked for 30 years with the American Fire Apparatus Company of Battle Creek until retiring in 1978 where he was a welder and assembler of fire truck bodies. After retirement he built smaller ranch houses as a side job and was a city farmer in Dowling from 1964-79, where they raised cows to take to the County Fair, raised rabbits and planted corn.
He married Beverly Jean Akers on September 3, 1950 in Battle Creek; however she passed away on Jan. 20, 2005.
In his free time he enjoyed deer hunting, bowling, used to belong to a camping club, loved to take ocean liners to cruise the Caribbean. He enjoyed going to the casinos Detroit Tigers and spring training for the San Diego Padres. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church.

two daughters; Connie (Russell) Davies of Lexington, Kentucky;
and Ronda L. Porter of Wakarusa, IN;
six grandchildren: Kevin (Theresa) Davies; Micheal (Cassady) Wank; Rick (Kyle ) Wank; Sara (Darrell) Barnum; Chad (Kristi) Porter; Jason Porter: and 13 great-grandchildren: Tyler, Katelyn, Reece, Rowan, Colton, Dylan, Malia, William, Darrien, Kylie, Layla, Reese, and Payton.
Brother: Melvin (Sue) Wank of Battle Creek and Florida
Predeceased by his parents, son Rodney Wank on April 12, 2015; three sisters: Erma Akers; Gladys Eyre; and Mary Mitchell; seven brothers: John; Carl; James; Raymond; Warren; Richard; and Arthur Wank.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 25, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM on Tuesday, in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Rev. Crystal Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford Township, MI.
