Mary Stine, 83, of Battle Creek, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2020. She was born February 5, 1936 in Liverpool, England, the daughter of Denis and Ada (Rimmer) Mackin. She married Airman Gordon Stine on June 12, 1954 in Liverpool. Upon completion of Gordon’s Air Force career, Mary and Gordon made their home in Battle Creek. Mary was a member of Overflow Church and was a great homemaker and cook. She enjoyed celebrating all things British (especially tea), traveling, and spending time with best friends: Mary Lemish, Margaret Miner, and Meghan Kulikowski. Mary was brave, generous, and feisty. Above all else, she had strong faith and loved her family.
Mary is survived by her children, Ann Bengtsson, Catherine Stine, Susan (Patrick) Oswill, Dennis Stine, and Arthur Stine; 9 grandchildren, Jason Reel, Gordon Stine, Jamie (Dana) Lewis, Jessica Bengtsson, Andrew (Allysa) Bengtsson, Jensen (Tiana) Oswill, Marissa Oswill, Charlie Stine, and Oscar Stine; 6 great grandchildren; and siblings, Esther Bolton, Patricia Mackin, and Jimmy Mackin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sister, Ann; and brother, Dennis.

Visitation will be held at Overflow Church on Saturday from 10:30-11:30 AM with the funeral service to immediately follow at 11:30 with Pastor Jeff Davis officiating. A private family burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to the Haven of Rest or Hospice Care of Southwest Michigan.
