Obituary for Michael A. Campbell Sr.

It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Michael Alidor Campbell, Sr. age 76, announces the passing of our dear father, brother, grandfather, church member and friend on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek, MI.
He was born November 29, 1942 in Battle Creek, MI the son of Glenn Newton Campbell and Clara Marie (Bruynooghe) Campbell.
After the military service he worked as a tool and die maker until 1984 at Eaton Corporation, working on his apprenticeship eventually becoming a journeyman tool and die maker. He then worked at the Kellogg Company as a tool and die maker in the mechanical department from 1985 until he retired in 2004.
He received his education at Hastings High School graduating in 1960; he went to trade school through the Eaton Corporation for four years. He married the former Linda Rebecca Mitchell on May 24, 1966 in Altus, OK; however she preceded him in death on December 29, 2014.
He is survived by daughter: Alicia Kay Campbell, Dowling, MI; son: Michael A. & Shawn Campbell, Jr. of Bellevue, MI; his granddaughter: Samantha Campbell of Bellevue, MI; sister: Linda & Dick Adolph of Battle Creek, MI; four brothers: Leonard & Kris Campbell of Dowling, MI; Richard & Val Campbell of Hastings, MI; Kevin "Kip" Campbell of Battle Creek, MI; Martin & Melissa Campbell of Dowling, MI.
He was preceded in death by his wife Linda, his father Glenn Campbell in July 1985; his mother Clara Campbell in 2001; and his brother: Glenn “Buzz” Campbell on Jan. 27, 2017.
Michael served his country in the U S Air Force as an Airman Second Class serving as an air policeman guarding air-crafts from 1962 to 1966. He was a member of Our Lady of Great Oak Catholic Church in Lacey and had helped build the church. He was a behind the scenes kind of guy at the church, helping where need be and also was an usher. He was a member of the NRA, a member of the Kellogg and Eaton's Sportsman Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working out in his yard, he cherished the love and companionship of his dogs of all kinds through the years.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Bachman Hebble Funeral Service where the family will be present from 4:00 until 7:00PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 11 AM at Our Lady of Great Oak Catholic Church, 6547 Lacey Road in Lacey with Reverend Father Francis Marotti officiating. A luncheon at the church will follow the Mass with burial of cremains to be private later at Union Cemetery in Maple Grove, Twp. Michigan.
