Donald Franklin Carr, age 75, of Battle Creek, died Tuesday May 15th 2018 at Bronson Battle Creek. Donald was born November 6th 1942 in Portsmouth, Ohio to Roger and Flowery (Callaway) Carr and came to Battle Creek while serving in the US Air Force in 1962. Don was a 1960 graduate of Portsmouth High School. He had been employed by Patton Monument Co. and retired in 1996 after 25 years at Post Cereal. Don was a great softball player in the Post League, he had played on the Bellman and Waiters and Cady’s Superette teams. Don enjoyed golf, singing, traveling with his family and gathering in the afternoon with his many friends. Don is survived by his daughters, Dawn Carr , Lynn (Kevin) Wilder , Margo (Wendell) Maye , a son, Sean F. Burke , all of Battle Creek, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, a sister, Flora (Wayne) Rankin, of Ypsilanti, MI, brothers, Richard (Linda) Carr of Columbus, OH, Carmen (Jan) Carr of Portsmouth, OH, Rodney Carr of Cincinnati , OH. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, and sisters, Carolyn Chapman, Maryanne Fox and Clara Jean Carr.
