Anna Allen (Vaden)
It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Anna G. Allen, age 83, announces the passing of our dear Mother, sister grandmother, great grandmother, neighbor and friend on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at the home of her daughter in Battle Creek, MI.
Anna was born August 9, 1934 in Monterey, TN the daughter of Dewey Washington Vaden (1979) and Hattie Marie (Pierce) Vaden.
She worked as a Nurse’s Aide working in foster care homes; particularly John Bria foster care home (owned by sister - Velma Edger). She retired in 1998.
She is survived by three daughters: Loretta LeAnn & Greg Robb of Battle Creek, MI;
Elsa Dawn Campbell; Rachelle Pennock all of Battle Creek, MI; three sons: Ramon William "Billy" Chaney, Jr. of Battle Creek; and Dewey Grant Chaney of Dowling, MI: John Chaney of Union City, MI; three sisters: Barbara (Roger Lewis) Jean Burke of Battle Creek, MI; Velma Jewell & Ken Edger of Battle Creek, MI; Betty Louise & Bert Rial of Battle Creek, MI; three brothers: CARL B. & Nancy Breck Vaden of Ocala, FL;
Terry & Teri Duane Vaden of Battle Creek, MI; Howard Carl Vaden, Battle Creek, MI; 21 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father in 1979; her mother 1966; daughters: Janet Chaney and Tonie Jean Chaney (August 2015); son: Randall Chaney (age 3); three brothers: Yual “Glen” Vaden; Deloy Vaden; Dewey Richard Vaden; HER sister: Reba Vaden (1969); three husbands: Ramon William Chaney whom she married in October 17, 1951; Dennis Lavern Pennock married on September 24, 1969; and Richard Carl Allen who she married on December 20, 1992 but he passed away in 1994.
Anna attended public schools in Tennessee and attended BC Central High School. After high school she attended nursing school for 6 weeks at Kalamazoo College.
She has attended the Grace Fellowship Church and was a woman of strong faith. When younger she loved flower gardening, liked playing BINGO, watching and identifying birds, spending time with grandchildren. Recently when she was more confined she enjoyed watching television and going to Firekeepers Casino.
Visitation will be held at Bachman Hebble Funeral Service on Friday, November 24, 2017 where the family will be present from 1:00 until 3:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM in the Bachman Funeral Chapel with Pastor Creighton Mabry officiating. Burial will follow at the Bedford Cemetery in Bedford Township, MI. Memorial tributes may be made to: American Cancer Society.
